As a huge Godzilla fan, today’s comic is inspired by this cartoon short from 1969:
This cartoon came before the film on my copy of “Godzilla 1985″ when I was a kid. (My most favorite of the ‘G’ movies I might add!) Looking back, I’d have to say that this cartoon was one of the first exposures to parody that I’d had growing up (outside of, prehaps, “Looney Tunes”.) This one’s for you Marv Newland!
Today also happens to be “Dialogue Free Comics Day”. (website here.) Started by Noel Curry last year, Dialogue free comics day puts fourth the challenge of creating a strip with out anyone speaking. I found out about DFCD a few weeks back over twitter and I couldn’t wait to take part in it! Be sure to head over to that site and read everyones comics!
